Let’s go back in time….

The alternative is too horrendous to contemplate. Up to 26 storeys, 1000 extra people with no improvements in social and community facilities, increased traffic on roads through Gospel Oak, no mention of council homes- only ‘affordable homes’, and we all know what that means!
Developer Mount Anvil has recently set up a subsidiary of the main company to foist this monstrosity upon us: MOUNT ANVIL BACTON LIMITED (March of this this year). No doubt they expect to be coining it.
They have recently submitted a planning application for a ‘Scoping Opinion’ seeking agreement to their proposed omissions from the Environmental Impact Assessment. The following is their reasoning of why socio-economic factors don’t need to be considered:

Here is the full list of factors they are hoping to ignore:
- Socio-economics
- Air Quality
- Biodiversity
- Climate Change and Greenhouse Gases
- Archaeology (further detailed in separate report – Appendix D)
- Ground Conditions and Contamination (further detailed in separate report – Appendix E)
- Agriculture, Land Quality and Soils
- Water Resources, Flood Risk and Drainage
- Human Health
- Materials and Waste
- Vulnerability to Major Accidents and Disasters
- Energy and Sustainability (addressed separately in Energy and Sustainability Statements)
- Utilities
- Light Pollution
- Aviation
- Electromagnetic Fields
They don’t mention the Gospel Oak and Haverstock Community Vision planning framework, that the Council spent our time and money developing!
They purposely miss out developments proposed at West Kentish Town Estate, Wending Estate and Regis Road Industrial Area when assessing Cumulative Schemes.

They claim that the site is a ‘brownfield’ site, and that the trees and green space that were bulldozed by the Council does not need to be re-provided:

You can express your opinion about this by responding to the current planning application:
